Hard Rock Stadium

Hard Rock Stadium is located at 347 Don Shula Drive, Miami Gardens, FL, about 25 km north of downtown Miami. Unlike other World Cup stadiums, there is NO direct Metrorail (Miami's metro) connection to the stadium. This is the most important transport reality you need to know.

The most viable public transport option is taking the Metrorail to Northside or Hard Rock Stadium station (recently renamed), and from there using shuttle buses enabled on event days. The shuttle service is free or low-cost for most large events. Total travel time from downtown Miami is approximately 45-60 minutes.

If driving, the stadium has ample parking but prices are high ($40-75 USD for FIFA events). From Miami Beach, the drive is 30-45 minutes via I-195 and I-95 North. Uber and Lyft work in the area but post-match demand generates significant surge pricing and long waits. From Miami International Airport (MIA), the stadium is 25-35 minutes by car. A practical alternative is staying in the Aventura or Hallandale area, which are closer to the stadium than Miami Beach.

Hard Rock Stadium has a three-level configuration with the canopy structure installed during the 2016 renovation. Levels are divided into: 100 level (lower), 200 level (club), and 300 level (upper). Total capacity is 64,767 seats.

The canopy is a key factor in seat selection: sections on the west side and rear rows of the 300 level receive more shade during afternoon matches. In Miami's heat, the difference between a shaded and sunny seat can be dramatic. Sideline sections at the 100 level (sections 108-118 and 134-144) offer the best pitch views.

The 200 level is the premium zone with padded seats, access to climate-controlled lounges, and in-seat food service. For those who can invest more, these sections offer the most comfortable experience, especially considering Miami's heat. The 300 level is the most affordable and is fully covered by the canopy, making it a smart choice to avoid direct sun. Views are panoramic though the distance to the pitch is considerable.

Miami Gardens, where the stadium is located, has limited lodging options but the nearby areas of Aventura, Hallandale Beach, and North Miami offer excellent alternatives. Turnberry Isle Miami (now JW Marriott Miami Turnberry) in Aventura is 15 minutes from the stadium and is a luxury option. For more moderate budgets, hotels like Courtyard by Marriott Aventura and Hampton Inn Hallandale are 15-20 minutes away.

Many fans prefer to stay in Miami Beach or Brickell and commute to the stadium, which is viable but involves 30-50 minutes of transport. The advantage of staying in these areas is access to Miami's vibrant nightlife and culinary scene.

Regarding food, Miami is a Latin American gastronomic paradise. Calle Ocho in Little Havana (30 minutes from the stadium) has the best Cuban restaurants in the United States: Versailles, La Carreta, and El Exquisito. In the Brickell area, Peruvian and Argentine restaurants proliferate. Near the stadium in Miami Gardens, Caribbean food takes center stage with Jamaican, Haitian, and Bahamian restaurants. Don't miss the Colombian empanadas from any local bakery.

Hard Rock Stadium features modern accessibility infrastructure thanks to the 2016 renovations. Accessible seating for wheelchair users is available on all stadium levels (100, 200, and 300), with designated companion spaces. Ramps and elevators connect all levels and are clearly signed.

Accessible restrooms are available on every level and section of the stadium. Customer service can provide assistive listening devices and other special support. Disability parking is located in the lots closest to stadium entrances.

Miami's heat represents an additional accessibility challenge. For people with heat-sensitive medical conditions, choosing seats in canopy-covered sections (300 level or west side) is recommended. The stadium has hydration stations and medical assistance points distributed throughout the venue. For families with young children, bringing plenty of water, sun protection, and considering evening matches when possible is recommended.
